StreetsblogLA

About

Streetsblog is a daily news source connecting people to information about sustainable transportation and liveable communities. Founded in 2006 in New York City, Streetsblog established a presence in Los Angeles in 2008 and is active as well in San Francisco and Chicago. It also facilitates a national network of transportation activists.

Streetsblog has covered the movement to transform our cities by reducing dependence on private automobiles and improving conditions for pedestrians, cyclists, and transit riders. Its reporters have broken important stories about transit funding, pedestrian safety, and bicycle policy from day one. And its writing makes arcane topics like parking prices and reduced traffic accessible to a broad audience.

StreetsblogLA's reporting has earned praise from local politicians, advocates and publications for loudly and clearly articulating a livable streets message in the car capital of the world. L.A. Weekly has twice named Streetsblog the "Best Local Advocacy Website" in Los Angeles.

StreetsblogsLA is published by OpenPlans and edited by the Southern California Streets Initiative.
