Live Talks Los Angeles

About

Live Talks Los Angeles brings great speakers to LA -- authors, artists, leaders, musicians, scientists, business thought leaders -- and presents them in some of the city's wonderful venues in various parts of town. While most events take place in the evening, those offered under the auspices of the Live Talks Business Forum take place early in the morning at Gensler in downtown LA.

Past speakers of particular interest to social entrepreneurs include: Bill Gross, founder of Idealab; John Mackey, co-founder and co-chief executive officer of Whole Foods; David Kelley, founder of IDEO and Stanford's D. School along with his brother Tom Kelley, IDEO partner and author of The Art of Innovation; and Steven Johnson, author of Where Good Ideas Come From

Live Talks videos all of its events and makes them available to a wider global audience after its events. Since 2010, its videos has been seen in 156 countries.

Through some of its events, Live Talks supports worthy literacy and educational causes that are making a difference in the lives of Angelenos. In so doing, Live Talks hopes to help raise awareness of the great work these organizations are doing in our communities and enhance their base of supporters, volunteers and donors.

In this May 14, 2013 interview with Whitney Friedlander of the L.A. Weekly, Ted Habte-Gabr, Live Talk's founder and producer, discusses "what makes great conversation."
