Michelson Prize in Reproductive Biology
Each year 6-8 million cats and dogs enter United States shelters and 3-4 million of these animals are euthanized. By funding scientists worldwide to develop non-surgical technologies for cats and dogs, the Michelson Prize and Grants program is working toward a solution to end shelter euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals.
Michelson grants of up to $250,000 per year for up to 3 years of funding are available for research in pursuit of a non-surgical sterilant for cats and dogs, and the $25 million Michelson Prize will be awarded to the first entity to develop the successful product.
The Michelson Prize and Grants program were established by the Found Animals Foundation in 2008.
