stone + cloth

About

The founder of stone + cloth went to Africa to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and learned that the porters that helped him reach the summit don’t earn enough money to put their children through school. Arriving home and feeling the need to help, he designed a mountain inspired backpack. Ten dollars from your purchase goes directly to the Knock Foundation, based in Tanzania, which supports its education program, including tuition assistance, school meals and school supplies.

The stone + cloth team believe in supporting education because it's what people in Tanzania want help with and because the team knows that education can create economic growth. The company uses a “build, test, measure” system. Since stone + cloth is very new, it has not measured its impact, but it plans to do so very soon!

stone + cloth keeps its production local. By keeping production in California,  it is one of the many companies that help the local economy thrive. It is doing good globally by giving $10 from your purchase to help support a child's education in Tanzania through the Knock Foundation.

Why does the stone + cloth team love LA? "The creative energy within the city inspires us daily. Not to mention the sun, the beach and the mountains. Southern California has always felt like the best place for us to build a brand. Sometimes we forget what season it is because it always feels like summer."
