Kickstarter
Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects worldwide. Individuals pledge money in support of projects from the worlds of Art, Comics, Dance, Design, Fashion, Film, Food, Games, Music, Photography, Publishing, Technology and Theater.
Project creators keep 100% ownership and control over their work. Every project must be fully funded before its time expires or no money changes hands.
In addition, Kickstarter features, by invitation, “curated pages” as a way for people to discover projects curated by some of the world’s foremost creative communities, including, for instance, museums, educational institutions, and record labels.
Since launching in April 2009, $250 million has been pledged to projects; 2 million people have backed a project; and 24,000 projects have been successfully funded.
