Council for Watershed Health

About

The Council for Watershed Health enhances the economic, social, and ecological health of the region's watersheds through education, research, and planning. Its goals are to:

  • Achieve regional sustainability through integrated natural resources management.
  • Change policies and practices through strategic actions and communication.
  • Work together with governments, businesses, academia, and organizations to achieve its vision.

The Council seeks to achieve its goals through the following:

  • Urban Stormwater Program
    Increase water supply and water quality through promoting more efficient use of stormwater resources.
     
  • Sustainable Landscapes Program
    Foster a landscape ethic that supports the use of native and regionally appropriate vegetation and reduces water use
     
  • Watershed Coordination Program
    Provide leadership, guidance, and assistance, working with other agencies and organizations, to affect sound watershed planning and management.
