Apolis
Apolis, which translates as "global citizen," is a living and breathing social enterprise that equips and empowers people through opportunity.
In 2004, brothers Raan and Shea Parton founded their apparel company with the idea that people can live better lives if they are given equal access to opportunity. Their travels abroad immersed them in personal stories of struggle and survival that inspired them to create a business model that bridges commerce and microeconomic development.
Along with their commitment to global advocacy, they also understand the importance of sourcing and manufacturing locally. An average of 60% of Apolis' product assortment is American-made and crafted within 10 miles of the Apolis Los Angeles headquarters. Whether it means partnering with manufacturers in Uganda, Peru, Bangladesh, or around the corner in Los Angeles, the Partons have consistently pursued the goal of empowering people through opportunity.
While primarily an online store, Apolis has a gallery and retail space in the Arts District of downtown Los Angeles. Named "Apolis: Common Gallery," it is the company's first regionally branded retail space and is the venue for its speaker series, product launches, exhibitions, and film screenings.
